❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Everything you need to know for a smooth adventure with Pigiyuk78.
🌋 1. Is the Blue Fire guaranteed?
The Blue Fire is a natural phenomenon dependent on sulfur activity and weather. While we always aim to see it, it cannot be 100% guaranteed (e.g., if sulfur smoke is too thick or winds are dangerous).
Safety Priority: If the authorities close the crater due to high volcanic activity, we will provide a safe alternative destination.
🗓️ 2. Are there any closure dates for 2026?
Yes. Please plan your trip carefully. Mount Bromo and Ijen Crater have specific dates where they are closed to the public:
🚫 Mount Bromo Scheduled Closures:
Jan 17 – 18:Wulan Kapitu (Opening)
Mar 19 – 20:Nyepi (Silent Day)
Apr 6 – 12: Ecosystem Restoration Period
May 30 – Jun 2:Yadnya Kasada Ceremony
Dec 8 – 9:Wulan Kapitu (Closing)
🚫 Ijen Crater Scheduled Closures:
Every First Friday of the month (Ecosystem Cleaning Day).
Pro Tip: If your date falls on a closure, ask our admin for alternative waterfall or city tours!
🧥 3. What should I pack for this trip?
Temperatures at the peaks can drop to 5°C - 10°C (41°F - 50°F). Please bring:
Gear: Warm jacket, beanie, gloves, and a rain poncho.
Shoes: Sturdy hiking shoes or sneakers with good grip (Crucial for Tumpak Sewu & Ijen).
Personal: Sunscreen, personal medicine, and a small backpack.
👨👩👧 4. Is this tour suitable for children?
This is a moderate-to-high intensity adventure. It is not recommended for children under 5 years old, especially the Ijen trek due to potential sulfur fumes and the midnight hiking schedule.
🚢 5. How do I get to Bali after the tour?
We provide a seamless drop-off at Ketapang Harbor (Banyuwangi). From there:
Take a 1-hour ferry to Gilimanuk (West Bali). Ferries operate 24/7.
Transport to South Bali: Public buses and shared travels are available mainly during daylight hours (until late afternoon).
Note: If you arrive late at night, public transport is very limited. We recommend crossing to Bali before 4:00 PM for easier access to Ubud, Canggu, or Kuta.
🏠 6. What is the accommodation like?
For shared tours, we use basic, clean, and functional dormitory-style rooms (Shared beds/room).
Focus: The goal is the adventure and community.
Upgrade: If you prefer a private room with hot water, please contact our admin for a 'Private Upgrade' (additional fees apply).
💰 7. Why is my price different from other participants?
This is a Shared Trip where we coordinate with various partners. Each agency has its own pricing, marketing, and package inclusion policies. Any price differences between participants are not the responsibility of Pigiyuk78.
